Cartagena

Cartagena de Indias is the undisputed queen of the Caribbean coast, a historic city of superbly preserved beauty lying within an impressive 13km of centuries-old colonial stone walls. Cartagena's Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site – a maze of cobbled alleys, balconies covered in bougainvillea, and massive churches that cast their shadows across leafy plazas. The city is the fifth largest city in Colombia and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country.
Cartagena has a diverse hotel infrastructure, with mostly bilingual (English - Spanish) staff. Its average temperature is 30 degrees Celsius (90º F), and the beaches keep warm waters all year round. This is a great reason to take it into consideration as an excellent tourist destination in any season.
This charming city features a rich fusion cuisine, combining ingredients from its African, Spanish and Indigenous roots as well as the food brought by Arabic and Spanish immigrants.  Its local cuisine is mainly composed by seafood dishes, like fish and shellfish and accompanied with coconut rice, fried banana and salad. Cartagena also offers multiple bars, cafes, casinos and discotheques around the city. When walking through the walled city you will find salsa night clubs, lively restaurants in the different historical plazas and bars/cafes on top of bulwarks and fortresses.
