Cartagena de Indias is the undisputed queen of the Caribbean coast, a historic city of superbly preserved beauty lying within an impressive 13km of centuries-old colonial stone walls. Its local cuisine is mainly composed by seafood dishes, like fish and shellfish and accompanied with coconut rice, fried banana and salad. Cartagena also offers multiple bars, cafes, casinos and discotheques around the city. When walking through the walled city you will find salsa night clubs, lively restaurants in the different historical plazas and bars/cafes on top of bulwarks and fortresses.
