Manaus is the mysterious gateway to the heart of the Amazon, where the sounds of the jungle meet the rhythm of a modern city.

Day 1
You will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight to Manaus where you will be welcomed and transferred to your lodge where you will have a full board meal plan. During your stay in the lodge, you can enjoy the activities they offer for free.

Activities such as:
Motorboat ride during the evening: Depart the lodge on paddle or motor canoes, to listen to the sounds of the jungle at night, with the possibility to spot alligators (or other creatures). Carrying a flashlight, alligators are easily spotted – two shining red lights among the foliage. Once the guide spots an alligator he will try to catch a small one with his bare hands bringing the animal on board for a brief explanation of the habitat of this primeval animal, hunting methods and the animal itself. After a brief stay on board and many photos, the alligator is safely released to its habitat. (Animals are handled with care – and guides cause no harm to the animals). Duration: 1 hour. Time is approximate.

During the visit you will see how the cassava meal is prepared and how they smoke the extracted rubber sap. Duration: 1 hour. Time is approximate.

The guide shows some of the tricks of the piranhas and how to catch them. Duration: 40 minutes to 1 hour. Time is approximate. Please note that this activity is for non-professional fishermen.

Day 2
You will embark on an unforgettable evening excursion led by your knowledgeable English-speaking guide to a nearby natural alligator habitat. As night falls and the jungle comes alive with sound, you’ll have the unique opportunity to observe these powerful, prehistoric creatures in their natural environment. With their razor-sharp teeth gleaming under the moonlight, they offer a truly thrilling sight – and yes, you’ll even be able to take photos (from a safe distance) to capture the moment! This experience is offered in full respect of nature: the lodge operates with a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, and all alligators encountered are safely released back into the wild after observation.

Day 3
After breakfast in the hotel, you will embark on a breathtaking tour of an Igapó – a flooded rainforest. Heavy rains transform the landscape and turn the jungle into an enormous lake, submerging the ground completely. Incredible, unique species of aquatic plants (not to mention thousands of different water-based animals) are on display here as you pass through by boat. Your guide will then take you to a clearing. The silence is almost deafening, and the stillness on top of the water betrays what lies below. You will be handed a fishing rod and shown how to catch the deadly piranha fish that swim below the surface, razor-sharp teeth ready to tear whatever they find to shreds. Just don’t get too close to the water! Your guide will then lead you through the jungle to a Caboclo community, an indigenous-European community that lives in the jungle and is steeped in the history of the rainforest. Here you will learn about the origins of the community, watch the process of preparing mandioc flour, and even learn how to prepare poison arrows! Children should pay very close attention when learning how to distinguish the poisonous from the non-poisonous plants.
