Chile: Space travel on Earth

Moon Valley, volcanoes and salt flats

In northern Chile, at the junction of the borders with Bolivia and Argentina, there is a unique place - the Atacama Desert. There are lagoons with salt, fresh water and pink flamingos living there, nearby there is the Moon Valley, Death Valley and the ALMA Observatory, which uses the clear night sky of these places to search for extraterrestrial civilizations.

Day 1: Santiago

Day 2: Santiago / Valparaiso / Viña del Mar / Santiago
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure for an excursion lasting 8-9 hours in a group with an English-speaking guide. To understand Valparaiso, you need to take a generous handful of Italian Sorrento, add a couple of spoons of old Lisbon there, cook it all for a long time, and at the end season San Francisco with its healthy indifference - in the end, you get Valparaiso. Valpo is a very pretty hippie city, not rich, disheveled, but extremely charming and proud of its past and present. And the more strict and "correct" impression is made by his prosperous neighbor Viña del Mar. But both of these cities complement each other very well. Lunch for an extra charge at the best fish restaurants on the coast. Return to Santiago. Overnight at the hotel.
