The entire territory of the park is located in the zone of tropical forests. In total, the flora of the Guiana Amazon has about 5,800 species of plants, including more than 1,200 species of trees, 85 varieties of palm trees, more than 300 species of ferns, as well as several hundred varieties of orchids. The wildlife of the park is quite diverse, it includes about 480 species of freshwater fish, a little more than 180 species of mammals, almost 300 species of reptiles and amphibians, about 720 species of birds. The abundance of various turtles, snakes, frogs gives a special originality to the park, and local alligators stand out especially against their background. A significant part of the insect fauna consists of very beautiful butterflies.
Most of the park is under special protection, and there is a ban on the extraction of any minerals in this zone.
