Kaieteur National Park in Guyana

Kayetur National Park is one of the oldest parks in Guyana. It is located near the capital of the country - Georgetown. The park was created in 1929 by the decision of the British colonial administration, and was named after the Kayetur Waterfall – one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world. The height of the waterfall is two hundred and seventy meters.

Almost all visitors to the country visit the Catheter during a day trip from Georgetown. A great tip is to combine this tour with a second stop at the nearby Orinduik Waterfall, where you can really have a good rest and swim. The real adventure, however, begins if you decide to stay overnight in this stunning natural setting.

The main goal of Kaieteur Park is to preserve natural landscapes, amazing flora and fauna. To date, the area of Kaieteur Park is about six ten thousand hectares.
