Merida

Merida, the city in Venezuela

Merida

Nestled in a valley in the Andean range of Venezuela lies a medium-sized city named Merida, with slightly over a half million inhabitants. Known as the city of gentlemen, the city boasts many attractions and is one of the most popular destinations in Venezuela.

Merida's attractions include the old district of La Parks, the picturesque church on the Wrangel del Llano Square, the University (the largest in the country), the Flower Clock, the colorful Mercada Principal de Merida street market. The lake with the ominous name ”Black Lagoon" is beautiful, and the numerous churches and chapels scattered throughout the area are pleasing to the eye. Not far from the city is the ”Condor Park”, the Sierra Nevada National Park and the National Observatory
